Rain and fog was the forecast, but there was not a cloud in the sky August 16th, 2003 when Garth and Lee Holmes were wed in Dartmouth Nova Scotia. Living on the east coast, their wedding had country charm with a coastal flare. Lee was walked down the isle by her father Gary, confident as she wore the veil her mother wore twenty-five years before. Lee followed her bridesmaids who were draped in pale yellow hand made dresses and displaying gorgeous peach roses down the isle, while Garth and his groomsmen patiently awaited their arrival sporting yellow accenting vests and ties.

Following the ceremony the wedding party left for Lawrencetown; Garth and Lee leading the wedding party and Garth’s parents trailing in a finely polished original antique 1967 Mercedes Benz. Pictures were taken surrounded by the ocean where Lee spent her childhood. Harley Davidson 100th anniversary bikes which Lee’s parents bought for their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary, a wagon belonging to Lee’s grandparents who live next door and gardens smartly manicured, served as both props and backgrounds for their photos. One of the highlights of the afternoon was Deborah fitting into her wedding dress even after twenty five years!

After enjoying two hours of sunlight (which gave Lee a sever sunburn scalloped around her shoulders!) accompanied by a coastal breeze, everyone made their way back to the church for the reception. Tables were scattered with seashells and roses and the room lit with candles floating in vases filled with ocean layers. The newlyweds kissed to the ringing of bells and cut their cake which too was scattered with seashells and topped with a coral reef. As the celebration came to a close the delighted newlyweds parted for Moncton, New Brunswick. They would spend the next two nights of their honeymoon at the Ship’s Lantern Inn reflecting on their perfect day and applying aloe vera!
